Easterside Farm, Hawnby, North York Moors
Sarah and Alan Wood provide a lovely welcome in their farmhouse, with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The farm is on the western side of the North York Moors National Park and is delightfully far from street-lights, meaning that the night skies are full of stars - a rare sight nowadays across most of the country!
Horses graze in fields that surround the farmhouse - sometimes sharing them with sheep! - and there is excellent riding over a variety of terrain in every direction. For instance you can easily ride to the atmospheric Rievaulx Abbey from here or across moorland, while close at hand is the picturesque village of Hawnby, with its well-known pub and tea-rooms.
