Low Osgoodby Grange, Kilburn, North York Moors

Low Osgoodby Grange is a beautiful Georgian farmhouse run by Trisha Fawcett and her husband John as a four star Bed & Breakfast. The farm lies between the villages of Bagby and Kilburn, not far from Thirsk, and on the western edge of the North York Moors National Park.

There are three loose-boxes and a paddock, and depending on which of the three comfortable rooms you stay in, you may be able to look out and see your horse grazing - perhaps alongside some of the farm sheep.

From Low Osgoodby you have direct access onto a network of bridleways leading into the hills of the national park and through farmland, with the Howardian Hills AONB also within riding distance. Within an easy two-hour ride you can reach the spectacular White Horse of Kilburn, and the villages of Oldstead, Coxwold and Carlton Husthwaite - all with a pub for refreshments!

If you don't want to ride all day and every day during your stay, other activities such as fly fishing on the farm's lake, clay pigeon shooting and archery are also available, while the National Park Visitor Centre and the market town of Thirsk, with its James Herriot associations, are a short drive away.
