Here's where you'll find ideas for routes to enjoy with your horse and friends: we've selected the most enjoyable routes we know to share. Each leaflet has a map and detailed directions, making route-finding easy. We also include information on where to park and - where possible - find refreshments during or after the ride. We update the leaflets when we can, either through our own route-checking or when people let us know of changes.
Before you set off, please read the small print:
While our routes have been carefully checked and are on public rights-of-way, Ride Yorkshire is not responsible for any changes since we last checked them or for adverse weather conditions. By selecting and following these routes, you agree that it is your decision to use them and that you ride them at your own risk and accept responsibility for yourself and your horse. We strongly recommend that you take an Ordnance Survey map as a back-up (all our routes advise on the correct one), wear a helmet to current safety standards and hi-viz clothing, and hold appropriate insurance for you and your horse.
Some of these maps are sponsored by local equestrian businesses. If you’d like to give your business long-term exposure by sponsoring a route, please get in touch here!
Past and current sponsors of our maps and charity rides include Burnby Equestrian, Burton Constable Holiday Park & Arboretum, Farmway, Houghton Equestrian, Howells Veterinary Services, Merlin Equestrian, Malton Marquees, McClarrons Insurance, PBH Rail, Parnaby's of Malton, and Stephensons Estate Agents.
Sponsorship costs from just £50 for each map.
“Thank you! we did the ride at Hornsea today. What a fabulous loop! So pretty all the wild flowers were out and it was lovely to ride through some ancient meadow on the estate. Very scenic.”
“Thank you for designing the Cowlam Dale ride as a day ride. We did it today. Apart from getting slightly lost in the deep dale we had an amazing time. Some of the best hacking!”
